No Makeup the Day of Treatment
Allow skin to stabilize and rest overnight. Makeup may be applied the following day if needed — avoid it if you have any crusting or open areas until fully healed.
Gentle Cleansing Only
Do not cleanse the skin on the evening of treatment. For the next 2–3 days use a mild fragrance-free cleanser. Avoid acids, retinols and active products for 3 weeks.
Expect a Brief Purge
Some clients experience a short purge phase as the treatment clears congestion from within. This is a positive sign and will settle — do not pick, squeeze or scrub the skin.
SPF Every Single Day
Renewing skin is more photosensitive. A broad-spectrum SPF 30+ is non-negotiable. Avoid direct sun and tanning for at least 14 days post-treatment.
The Shedding Phase Days 4–7
Light to moderate flaking as spicules naturally exit is completely normal. Do not scrub with towels, loofahs or exfoliants for at least 48 hours. The reveal is worth the patience.

Most clients describe a mild tingling or light pricking sensation — comparable to a gentle exfoliating mask, not needles. No topical anaesthetic is needed. Suzie’s application technique ensures the treatment remains comfortable throughout, even for sensitive and acne-prone skin.
SQT Resurface is specifically formulated for acne-prone skin and is safe where traditional metal-needle microneedling is not. Unlike metal needles which can spread bacteria, the natural spicules target P-acnes bacteria directly. Suzie assesses your skin at consultation to determine the right approach for your current condition.
Some clients experience a brief purge in the first session as the treatment draws congestion to the surface. This is a positive sign that the treatment is working at depth — it settles quickly and subsequent sessions tend to produce clearer results with less initial purging.
Minimal. Most clients return to normal activities the same day. Some redness can last up to 12 hours. Light flaking may occur between days 4–7 as spicules naturally exit the skin. By day 7, clearer, smoother skin is the reward.
You will see visible results after just one session. For optimal, lasting results — particularly for acne scarring and persistent congestion — a series of 4 treatments spaced 2 weeks apart is recommended. This is best assessed at your complimentary consultation.

Discontinue retinoids, glycolic acids, salicylic acids and AHAs/BHAs at least 7 days before treatment. Avoid alcohol 24 hours prior. Do not wear makeup on the day. If you have a history of cold sores in the treatment area, discuss this with Suzie before booking. Please advise Suzie of any treatments received in the past 48 hours.
